Above and beyond the sporting exploit and human adventure that takes place there, all three Urge Events have permitted significant funds to be collected and donated in full to sustainable charity actions taking place in each host country.
In Kenya, for the first Urge event, 12.000 Euros were raised to support projects of well construction in the Massaï region.
The 2010 Urge Event, Urge Nepal, collected 21.724 Euros through auctions, with the addition of 2.000€ from Urge Bikeproducts following sales of the limited edition “Endur-O-Matic – Urge Nepal”.
All in all, a total of nearly 24.000 Euros has paid for three schools to be built in remote villages and also put in place teachers to run the schools.
The Urge Cabo Verde has raised more than 32.000 Euros that will go towards several associations of the archipelago which all work for childhood and education:
• Pedro Gomez High School (Praia, Santiago Island): school bus and canteen
• Acarhinar association (Praia, Santiago Island): for the children of the Archipelago suffering from cerebral paralysis
• Cova de Figueira High School (Fogo Island): Opening of a library
